This is the December 2016 Report of the Leicestershire Speakers Club

Folks passing by Blaby Drop In Centre on the evening of Wednesday 14th December may have wondered at what was occurring within when they heard sounds of jocular laughter!  It was the season of goodwill and our December meeting embodied this sentiment.

The business meeting was short and pithy; then it was down to the fun part.  Our president, Anne French, shared a story of a Christmas spent in Palm Springs amongst the rich and famous  – wow they knew how to party!

We were invited to act as super sleuths; each person present had a name placed on their backs.  The aim of the game was to discover the identity by asking questions of others.  We had names of the high and mighty and some of notoriety!  A short session of a version of call my bluff created much hilarity.

We welcomed three guests to our meeting and they joined with us in our traditional party buffet.  After a lot of chatting and eating nice food it was time to say farewell and wish all a very happy Christmas.

Leicestershire Speakers welcome anyone who would like to learn the art of speaking in public.  Our meetings are supportive, informative and entertaining, helping to turn nervous wrecks into confident, speakers.  We meet at 7.30pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the Blaby Drop in Centre.  For more information, ring Anne Jones on 0116 2772295 or visit our website www.leicspeakers.co.uk.  We can also provide entertainment and talks to other societies and groups
